The “Virtual Credit Card” Scam

To return to Ebay and Paypal, you will need a Credit Card which corresponds exactly with the New name and new Address you give them. It will have to pass what's called a
Name Verification Search (an NVS) and Address Verification Search (an AVS) through the Paypal System initially.

It will then have to go through Ebay's system as well if you ever open an Ebay Store.

EVERY OTHER EBOOK out there right now will tell you to buy and utilize what they call a “Virtual Credit Card” to obtain a verifiable credit card for Ebay and Paypal.

Some of them will actually link you off THEIR books to so called “companies” which will sell you not only these “Virtual Credit Cards” - But also a “Virtual Bank Account”. Both of which can only be used for verifying your new Paypal account initially. These are THEIR companies!!

For a substantial fee– they will issue you a working credit card number, expiration date and CVV code by email;

They will associate any name and billing address with the card you request; and this info can be validated on line by Paypal when they run the card and the AVS and NVS. Using this “product” you have 24 hours from the moment it is issued to use it for Paypal verification.

Please be assured that this nothing more than a very crafty scam, and I am going to expose it totally for you for a very good reason. So YOU wont get ripped off...

This is the way this scam works, and this is information you will only get here: Because We are the only seasoned Ebay “rebel” authors out there who have any interest in protecting you as our reader.

At first glance, and by their advertising this Virtual Credit Card seems like a great thing – and worth whatever price you are going to pay.

It's a short cut – and it seems like you would have no possible way of doing this yourself. After all, you aren't a criminal, you don't know how to obtain working credit cards in fictitious peoples names.

You don't have any connections in a bank or with credit card companies to have cards issued at your whim, with whatever names and information you want associated with them.....

So initially it seems like this so called “company” must really have their stuff together and got a real good hook in somewhere. Once again, all they have is information YOU do not.

Like almost every book, product, and everything else out there on this subject – the people writing them, offering you these things and facilitating all of this are preying on two things; Your ignorance and your desperation.

Now the word “ignorant” may sound like I am insulting you, but that word defined clearly means only “uneducated”. So I will educate you about how these people do what they do, and rip you off completely.

Whether you know this or not there are Pre-Paid Debit Card companies out there that team up with Visa, and Mastercard, and that cater to illegal immigrants and people who do not have credit and cannot get credit.

Who cannot even go through the hassle of getting a secured credit card, because they have no Social Security Number.

These are people who have no SSN, nor a bank account. They work for cash, and they usually don't even have green cards. Technically they should not even be in the country. But they have the same wants and needs as the rest of us, and especially now more than ever they want to shop on line and buy the things we all buy there; they need to integrate into the modern world.

Well the problem is when you work for cash, and are too afraid to get or can't get a legitimate bank account in the USA, and you don't have a Social Security number;

Nor any replacement for it thats acceptable - pretty much no one out there is going to give you any type of credit card of any kind.

And if this is the case, you can't very well go on line and mail cash to vendors to buy products and merchandise (obviously), nor do a anything in the Virtual World with cash.

In these times even in some places in the real world you need a plastic money card to do business. You need that Visa/Mastercard logo and number. We are quickly becoming a “cash-less” society.

So this presents a VERY big needy and hungry niche market of immigrants and other people who are in this predicament, who want at the very least a Debit card they can load cash onto without much scrutiny if any; and be able to use it to do the things they want to do on line and else where.

Now considering that they WILL pay through the nose for this “Privilege”, and this being America.... Someone out there sees this and decides to exploit it to the fullest, and give people what they want.

Believe it or not there are more people like this in America probably than ever before in history; and their numbers are growing if anything, not decreasing. So the supply is limited, the market is TREMENDOUS, and the demand is HIGH among this growing population. You best believe this is a formula for a big corporation to step in and “Save the Day” and make millions. And of course they have.

They go by many names, and there are many of them out there. But one in particular where I am is called “Green Dot” www.GreenDotonline.com . The way Green Dot Sells it Pre-Load debit cards is in Pharmacies, Supermarkets and convenience stores.

If you walk into any major chain pharmacy, convenience store or any place akin to this you should be able to find these types of cards. Especially if there is a high concentration of foreigners in the area than these will be seen more prevalently. Walgreen's is one place I know for sure which carries these cards for instance.

If you check the Gift Card - Pre-paid Debit Card “Wall” that most of these places have now, you will find “Green Dot's” products there. Or something like it. THESE ARE NOT GIFT CARDS, DONT GET CONFUSED.

Green Dot supplies Pre-Paid, “possibly” re loadable - but more likely One shot Mastercard Logo branded debit cards. They sell for about $9.99 or less per card depending where you are. You can decide the denomination you want on the card. It depends on the area but I believe the highest denomination you are allowed to “load” is $500 dollars in some upper scale stores, like chain franchise pharmacies and such.

When you take the envelope off the wall and open it, you notice there is no card inside. Not even a temporary one. There is a set of instructions with which you must use to obtain your actual card. So you must bring the paper envelope to the register, pay for it as well as giving the store enough cash to cover the prepaid denomination of the card.

If you are a buying a $100 dollar card, you must give the cashier 100 dollars in cash plus $9.99 and you get to walk out with your instructions. Normally you must wait then approximately 1 hour to follow the instructions in the booklet you get. It takes the store this hour to “upload” your sale to the company and tell them they collected your money.

Now after that hour, you must go on a website - most only work through the web. The Website then has you put in your code off the booklet you purchased – and you must follow the prompts and put in all information requested.

They tell you very, very clearly that according to the federal government and the patriot act, they must record, verify and retain any and all information you give to them in regards to this card. They will attempt to verify the social security number, name and address you provide them.

They tell you specifically as well, that it will take them approximately 7 days to VERIFY your info – and if they can - they will mail YOUR card with YOUR name on it in that time frame.

If they CANNOT verify your information (SSN and so forth)– they have to by law send you a card, but it will not have your name on it. It will not work with the name and the billing info you provided to them initially once it is mailed out this way. It will come in the name of “Card holder” or “Member”

If your information cannot be verified, once you receive the physical card you will only be able to use it and swipe it at physical locations. You will not be able to use it on line or “virtually” in any way – because it will not correspond with YOU and the info you gave them.

NOW – the catch is; you can put in Any name, Any Social Security #, and any address initially on the website to complete the application. This information gets logged into their system IMMEDIATELY....And in the meantime, until that 7 full days is UP that they take to verify your info and actually mail your card – YOU WILL BE EMAILED INSTANTLY;

  1. valid Visa/Mastercard Card number
  2. A valid expiration date for that card
  3. A valid CVV three digit code on the back of that card

AND ONCE THAT IS EMAILED TO YOU, YOU CAN IMMEDIATELY START USING THAT CARD ONLINE TO MAKE PURCHASES. You can't do anything else because you have no physical card. THE CARD INFO WILL WORK ONLINE USING THE NAME, AND BILLING ADDRESS YOU PROVIDED, NO MATTER WHAT THAT WAS. I never actually tried inputting the information of an obvious cartoon character (i.e. Porky Pig or something), but my money would be on that even that would work.

The emailed card info WILL correspond with ANY INFORMATION you put as yours initially, including the name and billing address you provide....ANY NAME AND BILLING ADDRESS YOU PROVIDE will be able to be Address Verified AND Name Verified – by any system that runs it IN THE FIRST 7 DAYS....Including, you guessed it – Ebay and Paypal's systems.

Once the actual card is mailed with the name “Card holder” on it (because they cant verify your fake information) – it is then null and void for Internet purchases of any kind. Because in essence, they have found you to be a fraud, and can't issue a real card to a fake person or to an alias. The Patriot Act strictly prohibits this to fight “Terrorism”.

Now what is the on line “company” doing who are selling you these “Virtual Credit Cards” for Paypal or Ebay? They are becoming “re-sellers” of these cards and buying them in very large bulk.

So for the same card you would pay $10.00 for in Walgreen's, they probably pay less than $2.00 per card.

They then sell them to you for a completely crazy price – and just do exactly what I just explained to activate the card on line. Only they use the information YOU supply to them – The name you want, the billing address, etc. They then email you the Card number, Expiration, and CVV code which is given to them by Green Dot (for instance.)

To my understanding and after doing a little checking around – You can pay anywhere from $30.00 – all the way up to $100.00 on these scam sites for these “Virtual Credit Cards”.

Pretty good scam huh? Definitely has the kind of profit margin that makes it worth going in to business doesn't it? These are the same companies which will also sell you a PRE-FABBED or already set up bank account.

They get away with this because they know what you don't..and they take FULL advantage...as you can see. They know how cheaply and quickly they can get these “Virtual Cards” and know you will pay a high price for them.

DO NOT EVER, EVER USE ONE OF THESE SCAM, RIP OFF ARTIST COMPANIES TO SOLVE YOUR CREDIT CARD PROBLEM. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON TO PAY THEM AND THEY ARE SOLELY IN BUSINESS TO RIP YOU OFF.

That being made clear – I'm sure you think I am going to tell you how I have just outlined a great method for you for FREE, and how you can do what they do and not get ripped off, right?

Well your wrong if you think that.

Though what I outlined above will work – it isn't a method I recommend – WHY?

Under pay pal's CURRENT security policies this method will work as of now. But everyday Paypal learns more of our tricks, and believe that they adapt to them. Consider this fact:

When you create a Paypal INDIVIDUAL account, just for the purposes of buying, Paypal puts a very strictly low dollar “cap” on how much you can spend on the card with any vendor at one time and in one month. This is until you LIFT your spending limits by totally Verifying your credit card.

To do this, Paypal does two very small charges to the card . They make you go to your statement and see these small charges, but they don't ask you to verify the charge “amounts” like with the bank account – they force you to have to be looking at a statement of a real credit or debit card by asking you for a code thats sent in the MERCHANT INFORMATION LINE OF WHAT COMPANY MADE THE CHARGE TO YOUR CARD – For example the charge on your statement might look like this:

Merchant Amount Date

PAY3212....................................................................................$1.50 12/02/2008

Paypal wants you to give them the code 3212 in this example – not the charge amount of $1.50. Right now this is done to simply verify the card is definitely yours and lift spending limits– because it would be difficult for a credit card thief to gain access not only to your numbers and info, but also to your statements – on line or otherwise.

But given the ever changing “evolution” of both Ebay and Paypal security tactics – and seeing that they already have this system in place, it's just applied it to a different security measure...

How long do you think it will take them to catch onto the “Virtual Credit Card” trick? They could easily be applying this system of credit card verification to verify new accounts in conjunction with the Name Verification Search and Address Verification Search, and totally shut down virtual card users attempting to open a selling account.

Since we have no idea when this will happen, nor if it does if it will apply “retro-actively” to clean sweep all non – legit users...DONT USE A VIRTUAL CREDIT CARD OF ANY KIND!!!

Whether you know this or not, Verifying your Identity IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO EBAY AND PAYPAL IN TERMS OF SECURITY...You and I may not be criminals, but Understand there are MANY MANY of them out there and Ebay and Paypal are well aware of this.

They not only want to CONCRETELY identify you, they NEED to do this in order to keep a safe trading environment and not incur MILLIONS of dollars in liabilities, and severe CRACKDOWN from law enforcement entities.

Even though what I have told you WILL work right now as far as solving the credit card problem of getting back on – I will GUARANTEE YOU it will not work for long, Ebay and Paypal are constantly Evolving in their security practices.....

Read Ebay Undercover NOW to find out how to get a REAL, WORKING CREDIT CARD in any NAME YOU WANT, LEGALLY and Guaranteed - Which will be accepted for verification AS LONG AS EBAY AND PAYPAL use Credit cards for verification......

Ebay Undercover costs LESS than you will pay for a SCAM VIRTUAL CREDIT CARD!! And you WILL learn how to do things THE RIGHT WAY!!!
